Hi, I’m Karen. And this is Jimmy — my youngest son, my heart, my teacher, and the spark behind nearly everything I do.
Meet Jimmy
Jimmy is six years old, non-verbal, and he shines.
He loves music, spinning in circles, swinging as high as possible, and belly laughing at the things only he truly understands. He sings without words and connects with people in ways that don’t need sentences. He is the light of our home—and the reason I believe in creating tools, stories, and resources that meet families where they are.
When he was born, I didn’t know what our life would look like. I worried, like most parents do—but those worries were tangled up with a thousand unknowns. Would he be okay? Would I be enough? Would the world be kind?
And now? Now I know that life with Jimmy is rich and beautiful and challenging and deeply rewarding. I know that advocating for him means learning alongside him.
And I know that my love for him has made me braver, more resourceful, and more creative than I ever thought I could be.
This space is my way of sharing that love. Of offering real-life reflections, practical ideas, and honest encouragement to parents walking a similar path. Whether you’re navigating IEP meetings, celebrating new milestones, or just trying to make it through the day with your sense of humor intact — you are welcome here.
